Hundreds of thousands of people are familiar with Gregory Maguire's "Wicked Years" series that retells the classic Wizard of Oz from the villain's point of view. The first book, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, was published in 1995 and was soon thereafter adapted as a hit Broadway musical. Book two, Son of a Witch, came out in 2005, followed by A Lion Among Men in 2008.
